for the majority of humans, certain events are surrounded by tradition and ritual.
marriage, the birth of children, entrance into adulthood, and death are all life-events which will be marked by most with a form of religious ceremony.
for the few who have left off affiliation with a religious organization, these events are marked differently - more by tradition than by mystic ritual.

***Our lives are so meaningful now, and we now have a purpose***
Thanks for the laff lady. Dr Kevorkian had a purpose in life too. You know the guy? Dr. Death?... the retired pathologist turned serial killer that made house calls in his rusty van to dispatch people that weren't feeling very well? He added meaning to life by relieving others of their suffering. In the same way I suppose an apostate's purpose in life is to share their enlightened view of the joys of death. / You Know

In the end, I suppose it is entirely appropriate that apostates begin preparing for inevitable death. It is, after all, the ultimate repudiation of your former faith that holds out the God-inspired hope of never dying. You are like a condemned criminal that has been sentenced to death and has waived her right to an appeal or any last minute stay of execution. You have accepted the judgment of the accursed children even though the judge stands ready to commute your sentence. As you have said, you have made your peace with death, and you would much prefer everlasting death than to have to live in a paradise with Jehovah's people. It is even as the Bible says of those who spurn the very wisdom of God: "But the one missing me is doing violence to his soul; all those intensely hating me are the ones that do love death." / You Know

***I'm very relieved I don't have to worry about my funeral arrangements.***
The sad thing is that you didn't use to worry about dying. But now that you have tossed your hope in the gutter you are planning your own funeral. That's pretty sad Wasasister...pretty sad. / You Know

You would be wise to keep silent, not because you might upset me, but because you can't win.
***don't forget to underline the WT for this Sunday, otherwise you'll have nothing to say***
It appears that you are projecting yourself on me. I have never underlined or quoted out of the WT. But like I originally said in your case, if it wasn't in the WT you are cluless. That is a fact. / You Know

I learned a long time ago that apostates are all bluster and hot air. When it comes down to knowing anything of value it is nothing but pretense. You obviously need each other to play out your little charade of being in the know. / You Know

***But I thought Jehovah was using the Watchtower Society and it's official journal to keep His people in the light?***
The Watchtower gives people a basis for eventually coming to a complete understanding. Jehovah also conceals his truth until such time as He is ready to reveal it.
***First you tell me God wrote the Bible, but we can't understand it***
That should be obvious that you can't.
***now you're saying I don't "know nothing about Jehovah or his judgments" because I only read the WT***
Exactly, you are fairly thick-skulled, but I think you might be getting it. Perhaps if you took that helmet off you could get a little more blood flow to your brain. The point is: If Jehovah hasn't revealed all his judgments to his faithful slave then there is no way you are going to understand what God is up to. In fact the prophet Daniel says: "And no wicked ones at all will understand." Like I said, it is a beautiful thing that God has done. He allows monkeys like you to read his book and go off imagining you know a thing about the truth when in actuality you don't know anything. You gotta like Jehovah's sense of humor and style. / You Know
you know placed the following quote in one of his responses.. 'if now the godly man is being saved with difficulty, where will the sinner make a showing.
' what's the answer?
what happened to salvation being a free gift and "come and drink life's water free.
Salvation is a free gift, but there are certain things a person must do to qualify for the free gift. Take the 3 Hebrews for example. They were faced with a life and death situation because of their integrity to God. There was really nothing they could do to save themselves, exept of course---compromise. But because they didn't compromise and worship the image, God then intervened and granted them salvation from certain death in the fiery furnace. But taking a stand like that in such a hostile environment is never easy. Satan's contention is that humans will do anything to save their own skins.
But, that's the way things will play out in the future. At some point this system will fail. Then there will come a holocaust of unimaginable violence, the likes of which the world has never experienced. Jesus said that men will simply wilt in fear. When that occurs, there will be no possibility of survival by ordinary human efforts. But, no doubt the demons will provide their own mirage of immediate salvation, which Jesus forewarned specifically, that it could even deceive the chosen ones if that were possible. Only those whose faith is complete will have what it takes to stand in the fire, so-to-speak, and call on the name of Jehovah and be guided through all the chaos. So, yes, the salvation that God will provide will be free, in that there is nothing that people can do to earn it; but, it will be a difficult thing to attain simply because of the severity of the situation. That's why even the hope of salvation is such a precious thing and shouldn't be thrown away so readily. / You Know

***The Society says they alone are God's Organization. They say all other religions are false religion.***
That's true. I happen to agree with them. But, the point is that it is just all talk until Jehovah weighs in on the controversy. I think the account about Jod illustrate fairly well how Jehovah sits back and just sort of lets folks argue it out for a while until he steps in a settles things. That was my point about Jehovah revealing his judgments in the near future.
***We've got all these little people in different parts of the world born into various religions, doing the best they can--waiting for God to murder billions to see if they pleased the Great Godfather or not.***
You truly are an ungodly buffoon; as the Psalmist describes apostates. You are totally cluless as to how this system is going to end according to Jehovah's judgments. I am quite certain that it would take a thermonuclear flash to dispell the dense darkness that prevades your thinking, which, not coincidently is on the horizon.

You are just flailing in the dark. Pity.

As I said, you know nothing about Jehovah or his judgments, only what you have read in the Watchtower. In my case, when it comes to my pulling on the ol' apostate dog's chain, surely my loving Heavenly Father wouldn't forbid me a little wholesome entertainment from time to time? / You Know
